Chuck the Chicken Race

Game Description:
A great relay game that requires teamwork. All you need is a rubber chicken.
Objective:
To get the chicken through the line as fast as possible.
Game Rules:
Have the kids in a single file line. Hold up the chicken and tell that this is your good buddy Chuck. Chuck loves to fly but he can't fly by himself and he needs their help. Give them the following instructions: The first person in line will throw Chuck as far as he/she can (helping Chuck fly). As soon as Chuck lands the leader will start the clock. The whole group runs toward Chuck and get back into a single file line and begins to pass him down the line. The first pass is over head and the second in through the legs (over, under, over, under), this repeats until Chuck makes his way to the end of the line. Once Chuck is at the end of the line the leader stops the clock and announces the time. Try this a few times and see if they improve their time. Ask them questions like: Why do you think you did it faster this time, why was it slower this time, how can we do this faster? Hopefully the children will understand that if they cooperate and don't fight over Chuck, their time will improve dramatically.
Adaptations (optional):
If you have two chickens get two lines racing against eachother.
