Game Description:
Real life Sorry! A fun way to get kids counting, jumping and balancing on one foot.
Objective:
To get to the end of the hoola hop trail!
Game Rules:
Set up as many hoola-hoops as you would like in a "hop-scotch" fashion. Have the kids line up behind the first hoola hoop and let them roll the dice. The number they roll will be the amount of spaces they can hop. They must hop on one foot in a single hoop and two feet in a double hoop row. If they land on a single hoop they have to try and balance on one foot until it's their turn again. The next player then rolls the dice and begins their turn, if they roll the same number as the person ahead of them they must say "Sorry!" as they bump the player ahead of them out of their spot. The player that was bumped out must go back in line and wait for their turn again.
Adaptations (optional):
Make the hoola-hoop chain longer or smaller to extend or lengthen the game.
Use 1 or 2 die
Progression (optional):
Add a row of three hoola-hoops! The kids must also use their hand to fill the third hoola-hoop, similar to the game twister.
Have the instructor throw the dice to the kids in the game, this helps them practice their ability to balance while catching.
