Ball Pursuit

Game Description:
This game is a race between two teams to see which team can get their ball around the circle. The only equipment needed is a ball for each team.
Objective:
To toss your ball around the circle more times than the other teams ball.
Game Rules:
Divide the children into groups of six or larger, but must be an even number. Have them make a large circle and then number then off 1 and 2, making two teams within the circle. The object of the game is to pass your teams ball around the circle more times that the other teams ball. Designate one person on each team to be the scorekeeper to keep track of how many times the ball has come around the circle. This game can be timed by the leader or it can be up to a certain amount of points. You cannot interfere with the other teams' ball, if you do, two points are subtracted from your teams score. A point is only awarded if the ball travels around the circle without being dropped.
Saftey Considerations:
Initiate eye contact before tossing the ball to a teammate. Be aware of the other teams ball at all times.
Adaptations (optional):
Use bounce passes to modify the skill. Use underhand passes. Use various size balls to see which are easier and which are harder to pass.
