Pirates vs. Ghosts

Game Description:
A dodge ball version of the hit game Monsters vs. Aliens (or Doctors vs. Germs)
Objective:
Race to the dodge balls and try to hit some of your opponents to change them over to your side!
Game Rules:
Outline a large playing area with cones and split it in half. Place all the dodge balls around the long edges of the playing area. Split the children into 2 teams and have them lie on their stomachs in a line about 4 or 5 feet away from the middle on their own side. One team is the Pirates, the other team is the Ghosts. To begin play, the leader will call out one teams name, for example "PIRATES!" This means that the Pirates are the throwers and the Ghosts are the runners. The Ghosts must get up, run the the back end of their own side (touch the wall), and run past the middle line. Meanwhile, the Pirates must get up, run to the boundary of the playing area where the dodge balls are and throw them trying to hit any Ghosts before they cross the center line. If a Ghost gets hit by a dodge ball, they become a Pirate for the next round. Once the runners are done and that round is over, all the players lie down on their stomachs on their respective teams side and the leader will shout out a team name again. Try to make sure the number of Ghosts and Pirates stays relatively equal, by varying which team you call out.
Saftey Considerations:
Head shots don't count.
