Team Tag

Game Description:
A tag game that encourages team work as the player must use their passing skills to tag the runners.
Objective:
To build passing and communication skills for rugby or basketball.
Game Rules:
In team tag, players who are ‘it’ (taggers) try to tag all other players by touching them with the object or dodge-ball. Taggers cannot move with the ball, only pass it to other taggers. The game begins with two taggers. Everyone else is trying to evade the taggers. If the evaders get tagged by the ball, they become a tagger, as well. Evaders must also stay within the boundaries. If they go outside the boundaries, they become a tagger. The round is over when everyone has been tagged. The last two students to be tagged start out as the taggers for the next round.
Saftey Considerations:
Tags must be applied at the shoulders or lower. Students must be warned about being aware of other students running close to them. The playing area must be large enough for the number of students playing and away from walls
Progression (optional):
Taggers must use pop passes (a common pass in rugby). These are used for short passes only and thus make tagging more difficult. Use multiple balls. Start off with three or four taggers instead of two. Increase or decrease size of the playing area
