Helicopter

Game Description:
A great warm-up game to practice jumping skills.
Objective:
The objective is to jump of the skipping rope without touching it.
Game Rules:
Players make a circle around the leader. The leader takes one end of the skipping rope and spins on the spot with the rope following on the ground. Players must avoid the rope by jumping over it. If the rope touches the player, they receive a strike. Once the players are up to two strikes, they are out.
Saftey Considerations:
Keep the rope low and make sure players' shoe laces are all tied up.
Adaptations (optional):
Make sure the person spinning the rope is going at a consistent speed. Adding more chances/strikes or to not have any elimination will make the game more inclusive. Another way to avoid elimination is to have the players do a n exercise if they stop the rope, for example five jumping jacks. Once they perform the exercise, they are back in the game!
Progression (optional):
Spinning faster or slower can make the game more challenging. Continuously changing between speeds can really make the game more challenging.
