Squirrel Tag

Game Description:
A tag game played with each player having two tails (flags). The only equipment needed is two flags per participant. This game is great to teach the skill of tracking as players will have to track the tails of the other 'squirrels' and attempt to grab them while they are moving.
Objective:
To be the last person with a flag and to take the flags off as many of the other players as you can.
Game Rules:
Each child puts on a belt with 2 velcro flags (flag colours do not matter). Children try to steal as many squirrel tails (flags) from others as they can. Once they steal a flag, they can tuck into into their belt. If a child loses both of their flags, they are not out. Instead, they continue playing. No guarding or holding on to flags. Flags must be visible at all times. Players must stay within the designated playing area.
Saftey Considerations:
Remind the players to look where they are running. Players may be distracted by watching the flags of the other participants but must also be reminded about spacial awareness to avoid collisions.
