10 Second Tag

Game Description:
A fast paced tag game, great for a warm up to get the heart rates up! No equipment needed.
Objective:
To tag as many members of the running team as you can.
Game Rules:
Group is divided into two teams. Team 1 are the 'chasers' who are it and Team 2 are the 'runners' who try to avoid being caught. Team 2 spread out in the playing field and Team 1 line up single file on a side line. Leader blows whistle and the first person in line for Team 1 chases and tags as many members of Team 1 as he/she can in 10 seconds. At the end of 10 seconds the leader blows whistle and the chaser will hand the ball off to the next person in Team 1's line and then he/she will have 10 seconds to tag as many members of Team 2 as he/she can. This is repeated until all players in Team 1 have had a chance to chase, or until all of Team 2 have been tagged. Once the round is over Team 1 and Team 2 switch.Tagging is done with a SOFTball (see picture). You must sit down if you are tagged.
Saftey Considerations:
Shoe lace check. Remind participants to look where they are running to avoid collisions. Tagging only, no shoving from behind.
Progression (optional):
Decrease the size of the playing area to make it easier to tag and harder to avoid being tagged.
