Breakaway!

Game Description:
Lead up game for stickhandling and scoring.
Objective:
Score goals with your noodle until all the foam balls are gone!
Game Rules:
First set up a hoop or a box on one side of the room and spread out a bunch of foam or sponge balls on the other side of the room. Give each child 1 noodle and instruct them that they need to get all the balls through the hoop (or into the box) by using their noodle, NO HANDS ALLOWED! Children must use the noodle to "stickhandle" the ball towards the goal and then shoot it in! Once all the balls are gone, spread them out and play again!
Saftey Considerations:
Advise children to keep their head up and watch where they're going!
Progression (optional):
If older children would like a bit of competition you can put a hoop at both sides of the room and spread the balls throughout the middle. Set up a line of cones around each net and instruct the children that this is the "crease" and NO players are allowed inside. Split up the children into 2 teams and instruct them to try to score on the other teams goal. Once a ball has gone in the goal it's gone for the round. This adds another strategic aspect of the game because children will be able to play defense while thinking about scoring.
