Game Description:
Great cooperative warm up game!
Objective:
The goal the activity is for the children to work together and sort the colour flags to their corresponding coloured hula hoop.
Game Rules:
For this game you need different coloured hula hoops such as red, blue, green and yellow as well as ribbons or flags of the same colours. To begin, the hula hoops must be spread out in the corners of the playing area. The coloured ribbons or flags are placed in the center of the playing area. Have the children line up and when the leader says go they must run to the center, pick up ONE flag and bring it to the same coloured hula hoop then continue to do so till all the flags are sorted. As a group the children must move as fast as they can to sort all the flags!
Saftey Considerations:
Remind the children to be aware of the other children running in their space.
Adaptations (optional):
As a variation, you can have children try another locomotor skills then running. For example children can gallop while they sort the flags.
Progression (optional):
To increase difficulty the hula hoops can be placed farther apart or if different location throughout the playing area.
