Big Ball Balance

Game Description:
A fun balancing activity. Just grab a Pilates ball!
Objective:
To improve balance and coordination by staying on top of a Pilates ball.
Game Rules:
Have the leader hold onto a Pilates ball, keeping it still. Help a child on top of the ball on his or her hands and knees. The child will try to keep their body balanced on top of the ball. This is a great activity that works on a static and dynamic balance. While on top of the ball the child will have to engage various muscle groups to keep still and stay on top of the ball.
Saftey Considerations:
Make sure each child is spotted by a leader to prevent falling.
Progression (optional):
Once the child is balancing on top of the ball with ease, shake the ball a bit to increase the difficulty. If the floor is soft or if you have gym mats on the ground the child may even progress to just balancing on their knees.
