Raquel Saniuk - Program Coordinator

Hello, my name is Raquel and I am the Program Coordinator. I graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Science - Exercise Science. My role involves programming and implementing physical literacy activities, along with engaging Manitoban organizations in educating staff and their partners on employing physical literacy practices in their centers. I am trained in Run, Jump, Throw and HIGH FIVE. I am also on several committees, including Westmen Physical Literacy, Healthy Together Now, and The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management Academic Advisory.

When I am not on the job, you can find me hiking, camping, or teaching stand up paddle board lessons in summer. 

 

Josh Murray - Assistant Program Coordinator

My name is Josh Murray and I am the Assistant Program Coordinator. I currently hold a Bachelor of Physical Education Studies Degree and recently graduated with my Bachelor of Education After-Degree at Brandon University. I am a strong believer that all people should receive equal opportunity in sport and recreation. Teaching today's youth about the importance of physical literacy is a passion of mine. I am trained in HIGH FIVE and Run, Jump, Throw. In my spare time, you can likely find me playing hockey, golfing, or biking. 

 

Soban Sohail - Student Intern 

Hi, my name is Soban and I am a 4th year student at the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Kinesiology. I joined the team as a student intern and help out in various ways - whether behinds the scenes or facilitating programs! I spend the majority of my spare time being physically active by working out or through sports such as ultimate and basketball. 

 

Breanne Syvret - Senior Facilitator 

Breanne has a Kinesiology degree from the University of Winnipeg and is finishing her degree in Education. She is trained in HIGH FIVE, Run Jump Throw, ACM, and is a learning facilitator for Fundamental Movement Skills. Breanne strive to create an environment in which children can feel confident and competent in their skills, so they have the motivation to engage in physical activity. She believes physical activity should be a fun and exciting part of everyday life.

 

Jordan Johanson - Facilitator

Jordan is currently working towards his Education degree at the University of Winnipeg. During his time with Fit Kids Healthy Kids, he has always enjoyed bringing lots of energy and enthusiasm to all his programs. Jordan believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn vital physical skills and develop their physical literacy for a lifetime of healthy living. In his spare time, Jordan can usually be found playing soccer, volleyball, hockey, or out for a bike ride!

 

Emily McNish - Facilitator 

Emily is a facilitator for the Fit Kids Healthy Kids program. She is an Education student majoring in Kinesiology to become a Physical and Health Education teacher. In her spare time, she loves to play recreational sports like ultimate frisbee, volleyball and basketball. She also loves spending time outdoors as well as going to the cabin.

 

Dimitri Gray - Facilitator 

Dimitri is currently enrolled in the Bachelor’s degree of Physical and Healthy Education Program at the University of Winnipeg. He coaches with the Winnipeg Optimist Athletics Clubs in sprints and is currently trained as an NCCP performance coach in Athletics for sprints and hurdles, pursuing the full certification status. He is also trained in Run, Jump, Throw.  

 

Brooke Parke-Wilson - Facilitator  

Brooke is currently working towards completing her Education Degree at the University of Winnipeg. She prides herself in creating a fun, inclusive atmosphere while running her sessions with Fit Kids. In her spare time, she enjoys sports like softball and soccer. She spends more of her free time outside the city at the lake.

 

Sara Fergus - Facilitator 

Sara is currently working towards her Physical and Healthy Education at the University of Winnipeg. She understands the importance of physical literacy starting at a young age and works hard to create programs that are super fun, developmentally appropriate and incorporate fundamental movement skills. She is trained in Run, Jump, Throw. In her spare time, Sara loves playing or coaching basketball, playing ultimate frisbee or going for a hike!
